Lux-TSI Completes Full Accreditation: LM-79 Testing for Global Market Access

With the growing demand for independent accredited photometric data, Lux TSI has completed its UKAS accreditation extension and is now providing full accredited photometric reports and files for LED lighting products to LM-79-08, CIE S025 and EN 13032-4. Our data is accepted by Lighting Facts, Energy Star and Design Lights Consortium (DLC). As a result, Lux-TSI is supporting Global Market Access for lighting manufacturers from its high-tech laboratory site in the UK.

Anticipating the growing need for accredited photometry to support luminaire sales, Lux-TSI invested in a state-of-the-art moving-mirror Goniophotometer, along with the facilities and skills needed to meet the demanding standard set by UKAS.  For the past year, the team have been operating to the required level, building up data to support the final accreditation, which is now complete.

Dr. Gareth Jones, CEO, commented: “Complementing the existing total luminous flux and colorimetric accreditation, the ability to provide intensity and distribution data means Lux-TSI is in a unique position to offer the full range of independent accredited photometric data to LM-79-08, CIE S025 and EN 13032-4, required for LED lighting products by all major customers and projects world-wide. Demand is already strong and growing with upcoming trade shows and product launches, ahead of the major requirement for data to support Light & Building next April.  Over 20 lighting manufacturers have already benefited from this new level of service, coming to us for independent testing of individual items for specific projects, up to complete product ranges, seeing the value in working with us for trusted, independent data and quick service”.

With a range of test schedules and report content to suit all requirements and budgets, the service is flexible and cost-effective, above all it provides data customers can trust.
