Regardless of application, the OSRAM line of Light-Emitting Diodes (LEDs) is ready to supply a custom solution.  Using resources and technical expertise, OSRAM is prepared to outfit a variety of lighting needs with tailored LED systems solutions based on optimizations of the optics, heatsink and power supply.        

OSRAM LED systems can now be found in numerous unique locations where lighting is needed, including underwater.  Unlike traditional light sources, OSRAM’s LED system is ideal for illuminating ship hulls, cruise ships and under docks.  Underwater LED’s custom design is waterproof and incorporates powerfully bright OSRAM blue and white Platinum DRAGON® LEDs.  The LED system is conducive to the underwater environment and cold temperature.   This underwater LED system is a low voltage system, so it does not draw inconvenient amounts of energy from the ship’s power supply.   

Another innovative entertainment LED system design is OSRAM’s color mixing system that can be used in wall wash fixtures.  Now lighting designers and specifiers can achieve the right lighting effect with this OSRAM LED configuration of adjustable six chip, six color OSTAR® LEDs which incorporates Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and ThinFilm technology.  OSRAM’s ThinFilm technology provides high efficiencies, making blue, green and red LEDs illuminate even more striking.  A wide range of desired colors is also made possible.  This system utilizes a custom design active cooling method for superior heatsink control.

In addition to the entertainment field, OSRAM LEDs can be found in airfield, dental and medical applications.  For instance, OSRAM LED systems are used for runway approach lights and taxi way guidance signs on airfields.  The same technology is also helping in hospital operation rooms as surgical exam lights and in surgery as a white light LED source for endoscopy, making direct line-of-sight observation feasible.  Teeth whitening and dental curing is assisted by OSRAM blue LED systems.  

OSRAM SYLVANIA ANNOUNCES THE NEW LINEARlight COLORPOD LED MODULES
OSRAM SYLVANIA introduces infinite possibilities for colored lighting with LINEARlight Colorpod™ and Colorpod™ XB.  Boasting a color range of 64 billion additive RGB colors with a continuously variable intensity, the new LED system provides dynamic colored illumination.

Each LINEARlight Colorpod module is comprised of 50 LED nodes, consisting of red, green and blue LED chips.  Each LED module on the LINEARlight Colorpod is 36 feet long with a 20-foot leader cable from power/data supply to the first node, while the Colorpod XB is 67 feet long with a 50-foot leader cable.  The 4-inch spacing between nodes provides superior uniformity and is available with clear or frosted lenses.  Each node is individually addressable, allowing the nodes to display any color at any time.   

Designed for accent or perimeter lighting, the new LINEARlight Colorpod LED modules provide lighting professionals with infinite possibilities for creating and designing customer color changing applications.  The limitless versatility of these flexible strands are ideal for customized effects on building façades and other applications.

Continuing its commitment to complete system solutions, OSRAM SYLVANIA provides OPTOTRONIC® OTCP60 7.5V and 12V power supplies, which are specially designed to operate the LINEARlight Colorpod Modules.
Available with preprogrammed effects or with interface options to control through the DMX512 protocol, they provide 62 watts of power with integrated control services. The DMX is for installations using a DMX controller such as an OTCPTuner or a third party DMX controller.  

The OPTOTRONIC OTCPTuner is a standalone lighting preprogrammed controller and interface for LINEARlight Colorpod fixtures.  Easy to install with wall-mountable assembly, the OTCPTuner is ideal for applications that desire a variety of effects in an easy interface. The ease-of-use design allows the user to select and modify a variety of lighting effects with a simple push and turn of a knob.  Preprogrammed shows available include:  Chasing Rainbow, Fixed Color, Color Wash, Random Fade, White, Tile Burst, and Tile Spiral.
