Cree LED Photophyll™ Select LEDs – Spectrum Engineered for Plant Performance
Cree LED advances horticulture lighting with Photophyll™ Select LEDs, purpose-built to optimize spectral output, improve system efficacy and simplify two-channel (white + red) fixture design. Unlike conventional white LEDs binned for human vision metrics, Photophyll Select devices are characterized using horticulture-relevant bands – Blue (400–499 nm), Green (500–599 nm) and Red (600–700 nm) – giving designers precise control over plant-focused performance.
XLamp® XP-G3 Photophyll™ Select LEDs
Available in Standard and Horizon versions, the XLamp® XP-G3 Photophyll Select LEDs deliver a tuned blue-green spectrum that increases green photon contribution while minimizing unnecessary red content in white channels.
- High-power platform with proven XP footprint reliability
- Enables higher μmol/J system performance in two-channel designs
- Horizon versions provide a horticulture-optimized radiation pattern, enabling closer canopy placement and improved uniformity
J Series® Photophyll™ Select LEDs
For mid-power architectures, Cree LED offers Photophyll Select technology in two versatile platforms:
- J Series® JB3030C 3V E Class Photophyll Select LEDs – 3030 package delivering balanced spectral control and strong efficacy for linear and array fixtures
- J Series® 2835 3V G Class Photophyll Select LEDs – high-efficacy 2835 solution ideal for dense board designs and cost-optimized luminaires
By replacing conventional white LEDs with Photophyll Select solutions, luminaire manufacturers can increase PPF/W, improve spectral consistency and streamline development – without increasing LED count.
Photophyll Select LEDs provide a scalable path to higher-performance greenhouse, vertical farm and supplemental lighting systems.
