InterLumi Is Presented in Spain as a Gateway to the Lighting Market in Latin America and the Caribbean On February 20, InterLumi Panama celebrated its presentation in Spain, at an event held at the NH Collection Hotel Paseo del Prado in Madrid, which included the participation of the Embassy of Panama in Spain, the professional editorial of lighting, smartLIGHTING, the Spanish Association of Lighting Manufacturers (ANFALUM), the Association of Distributors of Electrical Material (ADIME), the Spanish Association for the Internationalization of Electronics, Information, and Telecommunications Companies (SECARTYS), the Association of Manufacturers of Electrical Material (AFME) and the Professional Association of Lighting Designers (APDI). They account for 95% of the total of lighting, electricity and automization sector in Spain. All of them showed interest in cooperating with InterLumi. Read more »

Osram’s New Kulim LED Chip Factory Goes into Operation Osram’s new LED chip factory in Kulim, Malaysia, begins operation on time. “We are both on schedule and within budget,” pointed out Olaf Berlien, CEO of Osram Licht AG, during the opening ceremony in Kulim on Thursday. “Given our enormous recent growth rates of 19 percent in the LED business, we are pleased to have the new production capacities. Our investment in Kulim also attests to the technology shift and our transition to becoming a high-tech corporation: At the beginning of this decade, conventional lighting still accounted for 80 percent of Osram's business. Osram and Continental Planning Joint Venture for Intelligent Lighting Solutions in the Automotive Sector
Osram and Continental Planning Joint Venture for Intelligent Lighting Solutions in the Automotive Sector Technology companies Osram and Continental today announced their intention to establish a joint venture. The idea is to combine innovative lighting technology with electronics and software to develop, manufacture and market intelligent lighting solutions for the automotive industry. The global joint venture will operate under the name Osram Continental GmbH and have its registered office in the Munich region. Osram and Continental will each have a 50 percent stake in the joint venture. The aim is to generate annual sales in the mid-triple-digit-million-euro range with a workforce of around 1,500 employees and 17 locations worldwide. Dirk Linzmeier (CEO) from Osram and Harald Renner (CFO) from Continental have been named as designated managing directors. The joint venture is scheduled to start in 2018 subject to final agreement on the binding contracts and antitrust approvals. Read more »
