Photonics Festival in Taiwan & Display Taiwan 2013 Shines the Light of Taiwan Photonics/Optoelectronics Industry

Photonics Festival in Taiwan (PFT) 2013 and the concurrently held Display Taiwan 2013 will be once again in the spotlight from June 18th to 20th, 2013. This year’s show will take place in TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall, with the scale of Photonics Festival in Taiwan combining Display Taiwan 2012 to reach 1,500 booths. For more than twenty years, the Photonics Festival in Taiwan exhibition shows the development and advancement of the Taiwan photonics industry. Visitors coming to the exhibition will have chances to look at features such 3D printing, biophotonics, plant factory, and Hon-Hai 70 inch TV.

3D printing:
PFT, held by Photonics Industry and Technology Development Association (PIDA), is the first international exhibition to showcase 3D printing products and equipment ever in Taiwan. As quoted in the Economist, now a third revolution led by 3D printing is under way. Manufacturing is going digital with 3D printing. In response to the trend, PIDA specifically sets up a 3D printing Pavilion to invite the leading Taiwanese solution provider to demonstrate the latest 3D printing software/hardware.

Biophotonics:
As health issues becoming the major concerns for modern people, another bright spot of this exhibition falls on the first B2B pavilion for Biophotonics & Telemedicine Taiwan 2013, which will demonstrate the biophotnics technology and products in related fields such as biosensor, medical image, medical laser, lighting application, telemedicine and so on. Presently, BenQ Medical Techniology, Taiwan Optics, GAMC Biotech, Forward Electronics and Biomedical Technology and Device Research Laboratories of ITRI are the major exhibitors.

LED Lighting:
According to statistics of PIDA, in 2012, the global production value for LED components attained 17.l billion US dollars, in which Japan has a share of 28%, Taiwan comes in second with a share of 26% and still has the largest volume for LED epi wafers and chips, accounting for 61% of the worldwide production.
LED Lighting Taiwan 2013 gathers exhibitors to showcase LED wafer, chip, packaged components and downstream lighting products along with various materials and equipment to present the comprehensive LED supply chain in Taiwan, giving buyers the best benefit of one-stop shopping platform. Also, Energy-saving lamps and green energy are also closely related to the hot issue, nuclear power plant.
International LED Lighting Brands such as Nichia, Philips LumiLeds, Osram Opto, Basf Taiwan, Everlight, LiteOn, Epistar, Formosa Epitaxy, Optotech, Bright LED Electronics, Oasistek all gather in LED Lighting Taiwan 2013 to provide the one-stop shopping advantages for foreign and domestic buyers.

Plant Factory:
The PIDA-hosted Plant Factory exhibition seeks to help the industry look for successful implementation of the commercial models, and to combine culture and creative ideas to enhance the industry value. The Plant Factory exhibition stresses the importance of LED applications and expands its reach into forestry, fishery, animal husbandry applications/business opportunities. The exhibition comprises demonstrations of different types of LED plant factory, latest industrial development, opportunities for cooperation, making Taiwan the leader in the worldwide market.

Photonics Product Award:

The 16th Outstanding Photonics Products Award is designed to encourage Taiwan photonics enterprises developing the innovative “Made in Taiwan” products. “Photonics Festival in Taiwan” provides the platform for Taiwan photonics enterprises. Through support and participation of exhibitors, making “Photonics Festival in Taiwan” is now a renowned exhibition globally and brings business opportunities to exhibitiors.

Furthermore, to make this event even better, the organizers invite more oversea buyers from dozens of countries, such as USA, Germany, Japan, Korea, Mainland China, and other emerging countries.
