Vishay Launches Integrated RGBC-IR Sensors With I²C Interface in Low Profile Packages
Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. broadens its optoelectronics portfolio with new RGBC-IR sensors for applications such as automatic white balancing and color cast correction in digital cameras; automatic LCD backlight adjustment; and active monitoring of LED color output for IoT and smart lighting. The new VEML3328 (top-looking) and VEML3328SL (side-looking) sensors offer better linearity and higher sensitivity compared to previous generation devices, as well as new features including an infrared (IR) channel.

New BJB LED Connector for Linear LED Modules: Book 21 Compliant
Lampholders were standard in older, traditional lighting systems. Modern LED fixtures that utilize non-replaceable LEDs create several assembly and field-replacement disadvantages. Zhaga Book 21 addresses these shortcomings by standardizing linear 'socketable' LED modules. In accordance with Book 21, BJB has developed the new LED connector 47.303; a two-part fixing and electrical connection system, which enables LED modules to be installed and subsequently replaced as easily as conventional light sources. Incorporating the BJB 47.303 series results in reduced assembly costs and dramatically faster retrofit or replacement times.

BTS256-EF Measures New Flicker Metrics for Compliance with Ecodesign Directive
The European Commission´s proposed regulation of lighting under the Ecodesign Directive will establish mandatory product performance and quality requirements on all lighting products. This new EU directive will include strict requirements for flicker and stroboscopic effect, collectively referred to as temporal light artefacts (TLA). Simple measures such as flicker index and modulation depth will not be adequate as they do not distinguish the possible TLA effects and do not account for the effect of frequency-dependent sensitivity or the wave shape of light output. The BTS256-EF spectral light and flicker meter measures the specific metrics required by the regulation, PstLM and SVM.

Goniometer LGS 650: Higher Accuracy and Reproducibility
Goniophotometry is an absolute measuring procedure that can achieve a higher level of accuracy than sphere photometry. It does not require a luminous flux standard, but in contrast is often used for calibrating standard lamps for luminous flux. In addition to the luminous flux, photometric spatial radiation properties, so-called luminous intensity distribution curves and the colorimetric distribution of radiation emitted from a light source can be determined. Partial luminous flux, i.e. the photometric radiant flux in a limited solid angle range, can also be measured for e.g. the evaluation of the energy efficiency class of a test sample.
