Koch Industries Completes Purchase of Molex
Koch Industries, Inc. has completed its $7.2 billion acquisition of Molex Incorporated (NASDAQ: MOLX, MOLXA), a global electronic components company. The acquisition was finalized through the merger of Koch Industries’ wholly owned subsidiary, Koch Connectors, Inc., with and into Molex. As a result of the merger, Molex is now an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Koch Industries, Inc., retaining its name and headquarters in Lisle, Illinois. The company will continue to be operated by its current management team. Read more »

After 500 years, the art-historically outstanding works can now be viewed to a level of precision unique until now, and the especially art-conserving installation enables significantly higher illuminance values. In addition, 60% less power is consumed compared to the existing lighting installation. "Art presents the most demanding requirements on light. The LUC-042SxxxDSW(SSW) series includes 14 different models with output currents ranging from 350 to 2100mA. Regardless of the output current, each model offers a full load efficiency of 87-90%. These products all operate over a 90-305Vac input range and provide excellent power factor correction (0.96 at 120V and 0.95 at 220V). Cree Licenses Remote Phosphor Patent Portfolio to NNCrystal
Cree, Inc. announced it signed a non-exclusive worldwide license agreement with Hangzhou Najing Technologies, Ltd. (NNCrystal US Corp.) that provides access to Cree’s remote phosphor patent portfolio. The licensed family of patents addresses the fundamental combination of a blue LED and a remote phosphor element to produce white light, as well as the manufacture, design and placement of the optical element, enabling lighting manufacturers that use NNCrystal’s remote phosphor optical elements to manufacture remote phosphor-based LED lights without taking a separate remote phosphor patent license from Cree. Product time to market can be shortened by using Cree’s patented technology and by using NNCrystal’s licensed remote phosphor optical elements to access the technology. Read more »

NASA Headquarters Launches New Energy-Efficient Cree LED Lighting The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) headquarters, a leased facility in Washington, D.C., has been outfitted with energy-saving CR Series LED Troffers by Cree, Inc. The high-performance LED installation is part of a renovation to maximize energy savings of the 600,000 square-foot building. More than 1,300 Cree CR22™ architectural LED troffers have been installed, and Piedmont Office Realty Trust, owners of the NASA headquarters building, expects the new fixtures to deliver energy savings of 52 percent over the previously installed T8 fluorescent fixtures.
