Luminus Introduces LCM-64X and LCM-32X UV LED Curing Modules

Luminus, a leader in advanced photonics technology, today announced the availability of the LCM-64X-UV and LCM-32X-UV, a family of UV LED modules designed to deliver exceptional performance for high-speed industrial line curing applications. Available now for sampling with full production readiness targeted for Q1 2026, the LCM modules represent Luminus' first modular UV LED curing solution and mark a significant expansion of the company's comprehensive UV product portfolio.

Revolutionary Performance and Capability

The LCM modules address the demanding requirements of modern curing and industrial operations. While the LCM-64X provides up to 300 watts of optical power in a compact 26 × 50 millimeter footprint, the LCM-32X is a 26 x 25 mm module designed to be half the size and power of the LCM-64X. The two modules enable system designers to create highly efficient and space-optimized curing solutions. The module leverages Luminus' latest UVX technology to achieve ultra-high-power density operation up to 3.5 A/mm², delivering unmatched efficiency and reliability.

The module's innovative die placement architecture enables continuous irradiance when units are positioned edge-to-edge, allowing system integrators to create extended linear arrays without gaps. Combined with an electrically isolated, high thermal conductivity copper core board package, the LCM-64X-UV provides the thermal management and electrical characteristics necessary for demanding 24/7 production environments.

Meeting the Mercury Lamp Replacement Imperative

As environmental regulations increasingly restrict mercury-based lamp technologies, industries worldwide are transitioning to solid-state UV LED solutions. The LCM-64X-UV directly addresses this shift, offering a reliable, high-performance alternative that eliminates mercury while delivering superior operational efficiency. LED-based curing systems provide multiple advantages over traditional mercury lamps: longer operating life, reduced energy consumption, faster startup times, and elimination of hazardous materials.

For manufacturers currently relying on mercury lamp technology, transitioning to the LCM-64X-UV enables compliance with emerging environmental standards while simultaneously reducing the total cost of ownership through improved efficiency and extended service intervals. The module's robust performance characteristics ensure that facilities can achieve or exceed the curing results previously obtained from mercury systems.

Ideal for Curing and Industrial Applications

The LCM-64X-UV is particularly well-suited for demanding curing applications, including inks, coatings, and adhesives, as well as specialized semiconductor and industrial applications. Available in wavelength options spanning 365 nm to 425 nm, the modules accommodate diverse photopolymer formulations and application-specific requirements. The precise wavelength binning and consistent spectral output ensure predictable, repeatable curing results critical to quality-dependent industries.

The LCM-64X-UV's electrical and thermal isolation, combined with its ability to deliver high power density without thermal drift, makes it an ideal choice for sterilization, photopolymerization, and other precision photonic processes where accuracy and consistency are paramount.

Key Differentiators

Exceptional Power Density: The LCM-64X-UV achieves ultra-high power density operation up to 3.5 A/mm² using Luminus' advanced UVX technology, enabling more compact system designs without sacrificing performance.

Seamless Linear Arrays: Die placement architecture allows edge-to-edge positioning for continuous irradiance across linear curing applications, eliminating gaps and ensuring uniform coverage.

Superior Thermal Management: Electrically isolated, high thermal conductivity copper core board package provides exceptional heat dissipation and electrical performance reliability.

Versatile Wavelength Offering: Five wavelength options (365, 380, 390, 400, 415, and 425 nanometers) accommodate diverse curing requirements across industries.

Mercury-Free Operation: Eliminates mercury vapor, reducing environmental impact and supporting regulatory compliance.
