HC SemiTek orders Thomas Swan CCS reactor for high brightness GaN LEDs

Huacan SemiTek (HC SemiTek), a new China-based start-up company has received and commissioned its first Thomas Swan Close Coupled Showerhead (CCS) MOCVD reactor. The Thomas Swan CCS MOCVD tool was delivered in the 19x2-inch wafer configuration. To be used for the development and production of high-brightness gallium nitride (GaN) based LEDs, it has been installed in the company's brand-new facility in Wuhan, PR China.

HC SemiTek's Co. Founder, Dr. Chen Changqing, comments: "It is our strategic plan to quickly gain the ability to develop and manufacture GaN HB-LEDs. Having a state-of-the-art Thomas Swan CCS system is the key part of this plan. Selection was thorough and based on high reliability, good flexibility, uniformity and throughput; all of these parameters have been demonstrated by the Thomas Swan equipment. We also look forward to AIXTRON's responsive local support which will ensure we achieve our aims as quickly as possible."

HC SemiTek is already experienced with the performance and operation of the Thomas Swan CCS MOCVD reactor. The Technical team at HC SemiTek has previously gained relevant expertise on CCS MOCVD tools from their earlier staff positions at leading local institutes.
