Seoul Semiconductor Signs a Sales Network Agreement with Excelpoint
Seoul Semiconductor, a world-leading LED manufacturer has announced signing a sales agreement with Excelpoint Technology Ltd., a total-solution company in the field of electronics headquartered in Singapore. Excelpoint will represent the products of Seoul Semiconductor, including the ultra-small high-efficiency LED products and the world’s first AC-driven LED, Acriche. Excelpoint was given the right to represent Seoul Semiconductor in Asian countries including China and India, and it is expected to be a major factor in Seoul Semiconductor increasing its presence in the Asian market.
Yi Sang Min, Vice President of Sales and Marketing Department, stated that he is “extremely impressed by the competitive advantage, strong business foundation, specialist lighting design and environmentally friendly systems of Excelpoint”, and in particular “the ecosystem based on LED lighting was one of the major considerations that led to confidence in the agreement with Excelpoint”.
With regard to this agreement, Albert Phuay, Chairman and Group CEO of Excelpoint has said “the technological capabilities and strong market position of Seoul Semiconductor as well as the vast array of excellent products including Acriche (AC LED) work exceedingly well with Excelpoint’s blueprint for the solid state lighting business”, also adding “the company will make every effort to promote and support Seoul Semiconductor’s products”.
Seoul Semiconductor expects that its LED products will lead to an increase in the amount of introduction of electronic products such as cellular phones and TV BLU in the Asian market through a stable and timely supply network of Excelpoint. In addition, both companies have a view that they will be able to gain competitiveness to provide a competitive edge and solutions to LED lighting companies through this strategic partnership.
