Philips Lumileds Introduces New and Improved LUXEON H for Space Constrained Bulbs Like the GU10 and Candelabra Bulbs

Philips Lumileds introduced its next generation high-voltage LED, LUXEON H today. With significant performance enhancements, LUXEON H enables the broadest range of retrofit bulbs and space constrained applications while providing the light output, efficacy, and quality of light required to meet ENERGY STAR specifications.

LUXEON H leads in real world performance:
• CCT: 2700K and 3000K with minimum 80 CRI
• Superior Quality of Light – Freedom From Binning
o Single 3-step MacAdam Ellipse color space
o No flux bins; no Vf bins
o Color over angle specified at a low 0.02 du’v
• Hot tested and specified at Tj=85°C
• Typical Efficacy: 90 lm/W at 40 mA, 100V, Tj = 85°C
• 100V / 200V package rated for 4W – 8W
• Typical Flux: 320 – 660 lumens at 20 – 90 mA and 100V or 200V

“LUXEON H is a major advancement that delivers unsurpassed quality of light in a package that’s easy to implement,” said Rahul Bammi, VP Marketing at Philips Lumileds. For the first time there is a practical solution for GU10 and other small form factor bulbs. Compared to other high-voltage or AC LEDs, LUXEON H delivers more light, better light, and better efficacy in a more cost effective package with proven LUXEON reliability.”

Compact and dimmable drivers are already available and LUXEON H is being designed into bulbs as a single LED solution which offers significant advantages over the multi-source designs previously required. The ease of solderless assembly reduces fixture manufacturing costs. Complementary components including drivers, optics, and clamps will be available through Future Lighting Solutions. High volume release of LUXEON H will be in March.

Companies interested in LUXEON H can receive updates on availability, sampling, and specifications by sending an email to Philips Lumileds, LUXEON@Philips.com, or by contacting Future Lighting Solutions, LUXEON@futurelightingsolutions.com. The new LUXEON LED will be shown at Philips Lumileds booth, #619, at Strategies in Light.

Philips Lumileds is a leading provider of LEDs for illumination solutions. Its LUXEON products deliver high light output, high efficacy and a more environmentally friendly light source, demonstrating its commitment to innovation.
