DALI Alliance and IES Announce Strategic Collaboration to Advance Lighting Industry Standardization and Education
The DALI Alliance and the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) are pleased to announce a strategic collaboration aimed at advancing the development, adoption, and harmonization of educational initiatives around global lighting standards. This partnership brings together two of the industry’s most respected organizations, uniting their efforts to promote innovation and best practices across the lighting ecosystem.
Through this collaboration, the DALI Alliance and IES will coordinate on activities such as education and training programs, and outreach to designers, engineers, and specifiers. The goal is to create greater alignment across lighting technologies and accelerate the deployment of intelligent and sustainable lighting solutions worldwide.
“This partnership reinforces our shared commitment to open standards, cross-industry collaboration, and delivering real value to the global lighting community,” said Paul Drosihn, General Manager of the DALI Alliance. “By working closely with IES, we’re better positioned to support the evolution of lighting systems that are smart, interoperable, and standardized.”
As part of this collaboration, the organizations will explore opportunities for joint initiatives including marketing committees, publications, and knowledge-sharing efforts that benefit manufacturers, lighting professionals, and end users alike.
The announcement comes during the 2025 LightFair event in Las Vegas, where representatives from both organizations will be on hand to speak about the partnership and its impact. Visitors to the DALI Alliance’s VIP Hospitality Lounge at LightFair are invited to meet with DALI and IES leadership during the show.
“We’re excited to work more closely with the DALI Alliance to further IES’s mission of improving the lighted environment through science and education,” said Colleen Harper, IES CEO and Executive Director. “Together, we can better serve the needs of lighting professionals and support a more integrated, forward-thinking approach to lighting design and technology.”
