Paula graduated in Architecture and Urban Planning in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2002 and completed her Master's degree in Architectural Lighting Design in Wismar, Germany in 2008. Over the last 15 years she has worked on a variety of different lighting design projects that have won various lighting design awards in Germany, the UK and the USA. Her designs always take into account architecture, location, environment, cultural background, function and last but not least the needs of the future users. She passionately strives for seamless integration of daylight and artificial lighting systems into the architecture being designed, and especially considers sustainability aspects and future-proofing in her projects. Since March 2019, Paula Longato leads the lighting team in the Europe region at Buro Happold. She has been a member of the board of the Deutsche Lichttechnische Gesellschaft e. V. (LiTG) since January 2022.
- “How Do Fixture Manufacturers Create Lighting Solutions That Bring Wider Benefits to Occupants of a Lighting Space and Reduce Impact to the Environment” by Claudio Scaroni
Claudio, holds a technical degree in Electronic, is in the lighting business since the 2001. He worked for luminaire manufacturers such as Targetti and ERCO, where he was responsible for projects in architecture, churches and cathedrals as well as luxury retail respectively. He founded his own company Claudio Scaroni Development (CSD SRL) and supports business development at FLI and FOLIO, with focus in the field of lighting solutions for luxury retail. Claudio manages the entire project development processes, from the definition of the technical solution with the specifiers, up to the supply to the contractors.
- “Innovation, Quality, Design and Sustainability as Elements of an End-User Lighting Product” by Lukas Heintschel
Lukas graduated in Product and Industrial Design in Munich, Germany. An emerging designer with international awards, he has a strong focus on furniture, lighting and consumer electronics. He does not only design functional and creative products he also pushes boundaries of sustainability. Moreover, he is one of the founders of the B2C lighting startup Neozoon.
- “What Are the Latest and Future Lighting Technologies that Address the Needs of a Good and Sustainable Light” by Giovanni Vecchio
Giovanni is the Head of Sales and Marketing for General Lighting at Nichia Europe. He has more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry and has been with Nichia for the last 11 years. He’s proficiency in engineering was founded from his Electrical Engineering background and his earlier role as a field engineer for a distribution company as well as his current role in Nichia. Over the years at Nichia he developed a strong knowledge how to address the market technical needs with Nichia’s innovative and quality light solutions.
- “Best Practice: Complete Solution with Good Lighting to Support HCL Concepts” by Paul Sparenborg
Paul has almost 20 years of experience in the development and production of LED modules. He is co-founder of LUMITRONIX, established in 2005, and has been working as Sales Manager at LUMITRONIX ever since. In his current position as Head of Sales, Paul Sparenborg has a strong connection to the market demands of luminaire manufacturers and other industries such as white goods or transportation applications. In 2010, Paul Sparenborg added a BA in SME economics to strengthen his commercial background and support the industry with both technically and economically optimised LED solutions.
