AZZURRO Strengthens Customer Support in Taiwan by Assigning SUMITOMO as Exclusive Local Distribution Partner

AZZURRO Semiconductors, a pioneer and leader in GaN-on-Si technology announces SUMITOMO Taiwan as their sole distributor partner in Taiwan.

Capitalizing on the overwhelming success and customer traction, AZZURRO stepped up its customer support by opening its Regional Office Asia in Taipei, Taiwan in August and is now expanding its support by signing an agreement with SUMITOMO Taiwan as their sole distribution partner in Taiwan.

High acceptance of AZZURRO’s products in the power semiconductor and LED markets continues to rise. As the production ramp up is currently under way it is important to have a smooth supply chain and be extremely reactive to customer and logistic market requirements.

AZZURRO enables the use of gallium nitride wafers in standard silicon processing lines by growing the gallium nitride on large area silicon substrates with its proprietary strain engineering technology. As this is a breakthrough step in massively reducing the costs for LEDs and power semiconductors AZZURRO is designated to become a strong global player in the GaN markets. Accordingly establishing an agile support structure for its Asian business partners by means of its own local expert facility in Taiwan with direct access to all design and engineering as well as corporate functions in Germany was of high importance to AZZURRO. This pivotal bridge function will assure a smooth implementation at customers with product roadmap support for customer, technical product optimizations, adaptation to technical customer requirements and effective communication of newest market trend and suitable AZZURRO products.
