For our largest research site in Weiz, Austria, we are seeking a highly motivated

Research Group Leader Light and Optical Technologies

In this challenging position you will be responsible for the implementation, development as well as the professional and disciplinary guidance of the well established and internationally active research group.

Main Tasks/Activities:
•    Responsibility for the research topics of the group
•    Responsibility for establishing the research group strategy
•    Setting and achieving the goals for the research group
•    Responsibility for the group budget (incl. investment planning and realization)
•    Scientific and organizational planning and acquisition of research projects with our national and international partners
•    Resource planning
•    Responsibility for project management of research and development projects, and technology transfer
•    Guidance of master students and trainees

In coordination with the director of the institute you will be leading the scientific, organizational and economical orientation of the research group and ensure its continuous progress and development and assist the director of the institute in the definition of the institute strategy, in networking and representation tasks, and in national and international platforms.

We seek for enthusiastic and experienced experts with strong organization skills and leadership, who have a strong scientific track record and international reputation in at least one of the fields of optics, lighting, photovoltaics, and/or laser technology. Minimum requirement is a Ph.D. qualification (in physics, material sciences, electrical engineering or a related subject).

We expect several years of experience in national and international research projects. Experience of leading a team is advantageous. Excellent spoken and written command of both English and German is obligatory.

Due to the collective agreement for employees in non-university research this position will be remunerated with an annual gross salary of € 70,000 including all overtime. Scientist

In this position you will be responsible for research and development of trend-setting smart and connected indoor and outdoor lighting solutions.

Minimum requirement is a Master degree in at least one of the areas of electrical engineering, mechatronics or information and communication technologies or an equivalent qualification.

Work experience in national and international research projects would be as advantageous as work experience in the field of system integration and control development. Excellent spoken and written command of English is obligatory.

You are a solution-oriented, reliable person with deep interest and knowledge in scientific work. Furthermore your personality is characterized by reliability, strong communication skills, accuracy as well as creativity.

We provide a specific internal competence development concept for your professional and personal career development. According to the collective agreement for employees in non-university research for this position the minimum monthly gross salary is € 2.889,- (full-time).
