Business Development Manager - Germany
Location:
Germany based, preferably Munich or Frankfurt area. Travel within Germany required 80% of the time, work from home 20%. Frequent travel to Italian HQ required.
Job Overview:
You will be primarily responsible for revenue and profit growth of Roal Digital Power/Digital Light products in the agreed geographical area of responsibility (Germany) directly engaging with local distributors and direct customers/OEM to promote and sell Roal products.
Main Responsibilities:
- Responsible to achieve Sales, Bookings and Gross Profit targets for Digital Power/Digital Light in Germany market.
- Generate and execute sales plans in existing customer base, and in new accounts, to meet defined goals
- Seeks new opportunities to sell Roal products to new customers (customer acquisition)
- Manage distribution channel partners within the assigned geography to ensure proper technical support and maximize revenue and profit
- Develop incremental orders/sales for the Digital Power/Digital Light business in Germany by focusing on full involvement in key projects, identifying and penetrating new customers/OEMs and maximizing our price levels with our customers and distribution channel
- Work closely with current and prospective direct customers to understand business needs and recommend continuous improvement and innovation plans that will maintain and grow sales within assigned territory.
- Negotiates Business Contracts with customer within the agreed Delegation of Authority - including discount, price and volume structures
- Provide pre-sales technical assistance to distribution partner and technical support to direct customers, identifying and resolving customer challenges, escalating as required.
- Provide product training and support material to distribution partner and direct customers
- Manage and execute lead generation activities, defining adequate promotional mix and media channels in order to establish new and maintain existing long term relationships with customers
- Supporting marketing by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events
- Communicate status of top projects to management monthly with estimation of bookings by month and actively reports to the Sales Director on customer requirements, competition and potential business opportunities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Economics with strong technical experience
- 5+ years of successful technical sales experience in power supplies or semiconductor industries
- High computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn internal business systems)
- Fluent in both German and English Language, Italian will be a plus
- History of working in a field that required autonomy and self-motivation
- Prior experience that required excellent communication and organizational skills
