LUX TSI Limited Achieves Accreditation from UKAS to ISO/IEC 17025 as a Competent Photometric Testing Laboratory

LUX-TSI, the first independent photometric lab in Europe for testing of LM79 and LM80 standards for LED lighting modules, lamps and luminaires, announced today that it has achieved accreditation from UKAS to test LED and other energy efficient lighting products for photometric, electrical energy performance and lumen maintenance. The solid state lighting market is expected to attain rapid growth over the coming years, due to the need for energy efficient and fully controllable lighting systems. The rapid growth in companies entering this market and developing lighting solutions based on LED and other high efficiency lighting technologies means that the need for competent, independent and accredited laboratories like LUX-TSI is essential.

The team at LUX-TSI has a deep knowledge of photometric and electrical performance testing and understands the processes to achieve compliance with emerging standards and to meet the performance and reliability requirements of the lighting marketplace. Key standards developed by the US IESNA organisation are being adopted world-wide as best practise in the testing of LED products. UKAS is a member of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation ILAC which means that our accreditation for measuring and testing services is internationally recognized.

The company is able to offer a variety of test services, such as Gonio-Photometry/Spectroradiometry, Thermal (ISTMT), Environmental, Lifetime (LM80) and Reliability measurements as well as testing to ECA scheme. In addition, we can offer electrical safety testing for developers of LED drivers, lamps and modules.
