Martin Hockemeyer to Become Chief Executive Officer of Telefunken Licht AG

Martin Hockemeyer is managing partner in the Gebrüder Thiele Group based in Bremen. The owner-operated Gebrüder Thiele Group was founded in 1848. Martin Hockemeyer has managed this fourth-generation family enterprise with its approx. 1,700 employees worldwide and 60 international sites since 1999. In 2007, he formed an innovative LED company, which meanwhile contributes to significant sectors of Telefunken Licht AG. Hemjö Klein, Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Telefunken Licht AG says: "I am delighted that we have been able to engage Mr. Martin Hockemeyer as a successful and internationally-recognised entrepreneur for this management position, who will effortlessly continue the work carried out by his predecessor and develop the company further. From the beginning, the LED company formed by Martin Hockemeyer out of personal conviction in 2007 as part of the Gebrüder Thiele Group, has focused on particularly sustainable LED technology which can make a substantial contribution to meeting global challenges.

In 2012, Gebrüder Thiele GmbH and Live Holding AG – sole shareholder in Telefunken SE - formed Telefunken Licht AG, with the aim of opening up worldwide distribution channels under the Telefunken brand.

Our company´s focus is on the development of futureoriented LED technology which forms the basis for state-of-the-art lamps and lighting devices. Martin Hockemeyer studied at the European Business School in London. He is married and lives with his family in Northern Germany. Martin Hockemeyer is a member of the Board of Directors of the Bernd and Eva Hockemeyer Foundation, which is committed to supporting cultural, educational and social activities.
