InterLumi Is Presented in Spain as a Gateway to the Lighting Market in Latin America and the Caribbean

On February 20, InterLumi Panama celebrated its presentation in Spain, at an event held at the NH Collection Hotel Paseo del Prado in Madrid, which included the participation of the Embassy of Panama in Spain, the professional editorial of lighting, smartLIGHTING, the Spanish Association of Lighting Manufacturers (ANFALUM), the Association of Distributors of Electrical Material (ADIME), the Spanish Association for the Internationalization of Electronics, Information, and Telecommunications Companies (SECARTYS), the Association of Manufacturers of Electrical Material (AFME) and the Professional Association of Lighting Designers (APDI). They account for 95% of the total of lighting, electricity and automization sector in Spain. All of them showed interest in cooperating with InterLumi.

•    InterLumi Panama, the global lighting and renewable energy trade show is an opportunity for Spanish companies to expand business in Central America and the Caribbean.
•    With more than 1,100 weekly international flights and seven fiber optic cables, Panama is seen as an ideal place to develop widespread influence across the region.
•    The launch in Spain is part of the promotional campaign of the trade show abroad, after previous activities in Guatemala and Costa Rica.

This presentation is part of the overseas promotional campaign of InterLumi Panama 2018, after the sessions held in Guatemala and Costa Rica. InterLumi Panama is the global lighting exhibition and renewable energies of Central America and the Caribbean, whose upcoming edition will take place from 11 to 13 July, 2018 at ATLAPA Convention Center in Panama.

“The remarkable growth rates make Panama a strategic place to create business opportunities”, said Panamaian Ambassador to Spain, Mr. Milton Cohen-Henríquez Sasso, in his speech. “Better yet, the high connectivity of Panama both at the air and telecommunications levels, including more than 1,100 weekly international flights and 7 fiber-optic lines with unlimited bandwidth also make this country an ideal place for lighting companies to further expand their business aboard”, he added.

Mr. Alfredo Berges, General Director of ANFALUM, announced his presence at InterLumi Panama 2018, with the aim of sharing the experience that the association has gathered over the last 36 years and show the commitment of Spanish companies to technological innovation.

Mr. Rafael Galue, Business Development Manager of InterLumi Panama, introduced some main activities of the concurrent events during the show period, like the Efficient Lighting Forum, where local and international experts will discuss the prospects of the lighting industry. In 2017, 11 speakers from 7 countries shared their knowledge and experience with the audience.

“Match-Making” is another highlight of the show, Mr. Galue mentioned. It consists of meetings arranged in advance, that will bring together companies with potential buyers, with the aim of speeding up contacts and maximizing results.

The trade show will also include in this edition: Energy Saving Workshop, Architectural Lighting Award and the showcases of latest products innovations and trends of the sector. More than 150 local and international exhibitors participated InterLumi last year.

After this promotional event and other publicity channels, receiving the support of the main regional industrial influencers as well as the Panama embassy, InterLumi Panama 2018 expects to increase both numbers of exhibitors and visitors from Spain this year.
