LED Lighting Taiwan Reveals the UV/IR LED Strategy of Taiwan LED Industry

Taiwan LED industry continues its influence to local economy and worldwide LED market. It is estimated by Photonics Industry & Technology Development Association, a non-profit organization in Taiwan, that the production value of Taiwan LED components in 2014 was able to reach 4.7 billion US dollars with market share of 24% globally. Although the future remains bright, Taiwan LED companies are relentlessly looking for new applications that can further widen their leading edges in the worldwide competition. Among all, UV/IR LED surfaces as a top choice for the next stage LED development.

Built on the solid foundation of GaN, AlGaInP and AlGaAs techniques, Taiwan LED companies are exploring niche products to differentiate themselves with other competitors. In particular, UV LED applications are recently extending from bills identification to resin curing, insect lamps, printing and other fields, taking a step forward towards the development of sterilization and other markets. According to PIDA, global UV LED market is expected to rise with annual growth rate of 20% for the next few years. Meanwhile, IR applications are not only used in infrared mice and communication modules, but also show great market potentials in mobile phones, automotive, monitors, and health and medical markets.

This June, the LED Lighting Taiwan, held along with Photonics Festival in Taiwan, will once again show the vigorousness and strength of Taiwan LED industry. PIDA has invited leading LED companies such as Epistar Corporation, Lextar Electronics Corporation, Lite-On Technology Corporation, Everlight Electronics Co., Ltd., Opto Tech Corporation, EPILEDS Co. Ltd, SemiLEDs Corporation, and TSLC Corporation to join forces in the UV / IR LED zone to demonstrate their latest products and technologies.

LED Lighting Taiwan reveals the next stage of LED technology and applications, and provides global customers with the total solution at one-stop shop advantages, especially for niche applications. LED Lighting Taiwan has gathered LED companies from wafer, chip, packaging, and lighting sectors of Taiwan’s comprehensive LED industry chain. It is an ideal platform for global buyers to seek cooperation and business opportunities in Taiwan.
