Full Luminosity in edge-lit Applications with PLEXIGLAS® EndLighten T

PLEXIGLAS® EndLighten T is the new material from Evonik for edge-lit applications that will be available throughout Europe with effect from September. It is specially designed for transparent applications using LEDs.

The material that has been further developed on the basis of the familiar PLEXIGLAS® EndLighten grade emits much brighter light towards the viewer. Compared with PLEXIGLAS® EndLighten, whose strength lies in regular emission of light on all sides, the frontal brightness of T grades is approx. 250% higher in transparent applications. The new grade PLEXIGLAS® EndLighten T is especially suited for transparent applications in furniture, store fixtures and exhibition booths, as well as in lighting design.
Highly transparent also without lighting

PLEXIGLAS® EndLighten T certainly does justice to its name: T for transparent. Without lighting, the new material is highly transparent, with 92% light transmission. When the material is edge-lit with RGB LEDs, it glows evenly across the entire surface in the selected LED color.

The related material PLEXIGLAS® EndLighten is slightly cloudy when unlit. Competitive products require halftone printing or inscribed textures to achieve the same effect.

PLEXIGLAS® EndLighten T is ideally suited for applications such as partitions illuminated with LEDs, door infill panels or ambient lighting in furniture, store fixtures and exhibition booths.
Flat luminous objects on a large scale

PLEXIGLAS® EndLighten T is also used for non-transparent applications such as flat luminous objects with a large surface area like displays, picture frames, luminous ceilings and walls and citylight posters.

Four different grades of PLEXIGLAS® EndLighten T are available, depending on the application and the area to be illuminated. To enable extremely flat applications, Evonik has reduced the material thickness of all four grades. The thinnest is just 4mm.

With PLEXIGLAS® EndLighten T, the Acrylic Polymers Business Line at Evonik offers yet another innovative product to inspire lighting manufacturers, interior designers and lighting designers to new creative heights.
