Everfine BHA-2000 Retinal Blue Light Hazard Analyzer

The retina Blue Light Hazard (BLH) and some other photobiological hazards have been involved in the latest edition of IEC 60598.1 as well as other horizontal product safety standards, which subsequently transferred to mandatory standards in many countries or areas. Luminaires shall be marked if they use light sources exceed the limit of RG1 unlimited group. Portable luminaires for children and mains socket-outlet nightlights shall not exceed RG1.

Main Functions:
•    Photometric measurement: spectrum (300nm-800nm)
•    Retinal blue light hazard weighted radiance LB, blue light hazard efficiency KB,V, Citopic factor KC, etc.
•    Chromaticity quantities, luminance and luminance distribution

BLH covers the wavelength from 300-700 nm, and may lead to injury of eye’s retina. The evaluation and classification methods of BLH are detailed introduced in IEC 62471 and IEC/TR 62778. The weighted radiance LB and blue light hazard efficiency KB,V are adopted as the main indices for BLH.

Traditionally, the photobiological safety of lighting products are evaluated in a dark room with a complicated and expensive measurement system, such as EVERFINE OST 500/300 Optical Radiation Test System, which are usually applied in professional labs.

To realize high efficiency, low cost but accurate LB and KB,V measurement, Everfine BHA-2000 Retinal Blue Light Hazard Analyzer is specially developed. It adopts radiance measurement geometry as per IEC 62471 and IEC/TR 62778. Distinguishingly, double CCDs are applied to acquire spectra and imaging lumiance simultaneously. The software can analysis the KB,V, and determine the max LB in a requested field angle of the lighting products to appraise BLH accurately.

BHA-2000 features compact size and equips a touch screen for operation and readings, hence very convenient for quick and accurate measurement. It can be applicable for not only quality check and R&D labs, but also field measurement, such as classroom, office.
