Pro-Lite Announce New Update to Konica Minolta CL-500A

Pro-Lite Technology are now offering a firmware update for the Konica Minolta CL-500A, a compact and portable Illuminance Spectrophotometer that’s capable of measuring next generation light sources such as LEDs and EL illuminations with spectral precision. The latest update allows the CL-500A to measure both photopic and scotopic lux levels and also allows the colour difference between LEDs to be plotted as MacAdam Ellipses in a CIE colour space diagram.

The CL-500A is the first hand-held illuminance spectrometer which fully conforms to DIN 5032 Part 7, Class B as well as JISC1609 Class AA. It’s both lightweight and compact and its stand-alone design and advanced sensor make it easy to measure CRI, spectral power distribution, spectral data, colour temperature and chromaticity of any light source.

With the new software the CL-500A can now display MacAdam SDCM (standard deviation of colour matching) levels. Furthermore, both photopic and scotopic illuminance can be displayed along with the S/P ratio of scotopic and photopic illuminance. The updated user interface also helps define changes in CIE colour space.

For existing CL-500A customers using a previous version of the CL-10Sw a software upgrade is now available by going to the download page:
