Future Lighting Solutions Releases Usable Light Tool 2.2 Incorporating LG Innotek LEDs

Future Lighting Solutions announced the release of the online Usable Light Tool (ULT) version 2.2, which now incorporates the full range of LG Innotek’s LED products.

The ULT is the first and most comprehensive online tool to evaluate and compare the performance of LEDs under real-world conditions. Some additional features in version 2.2 include the ability to directly set the LED forward current and junction temperature to optionally simplify data entry, as well as user interface enhancements such as toggling between the data input form page and the simulation results page with the Enter key.

“Future Lighting Solutions continues to invest in our award winning online tools to assist customers in making informed design decisions,” said Patrick Durand, Worldwide Technical Director for Future Lighting Solutions. “We have an aggressive plan to further enhance our suite of tools in 2013, and launching ULT 2.2 is only the first of many steps.”

“The LED Institut leverages the Future Lighting Solutions Usable Light Tool as the initial step for determining an LED’s operating performance in new design projects,” commented Dr. Uwe Slabke, Managing Director at LED Institut in Bensheim Germany, an independent consultancy and verification institution for general LED lighting. “The ULT simulation results allow us to analyze the impact of varying critical design parameters on an LED luminaire.”
