DiCon Lighting to Showcase LED Fiber Optic Illuminator FL5100B at LightFair

DiCon Lighting is excited to announce that additional white light color temperature options are now available for its newest LED fiber optic illuminator, the FiberLamp FL5100B. This 96W illuminator will be showcased with a chandelier of sparkle fiber at LightFair International 2010 in Las Vegas.

The addition of different color temperature (CCT) choices in the FL5100B provides brighter and more accurate color temperatures than are possible with an RGB unit. The new white light CCT options have a Color Rendering Index (CRI) of at least 85, making them ideal for general architectural applications. The FL5100B’s optional multi-speed twinkle wheel offers smooth spatial dimming and brightening of the light across the face of the fiber bundle, previously not feasible with other LED sources. Because color management is done electronically, the FL5100B eliminates the need for a traditional color wheel.

Like the other products in DiCon’s FiberLamp illuminator family, the FL5100B has full DMX capability, where up to 30 units can be daisy chained under DMX control using 5-pin XLR in-and-out connectors. Built-in DMX-based master-satellite functionality allows one unit to control and synchronize the behavior of the other units, such as dimming and twinkling. DMX control combined with A/C input and an effect wheel also allow the FL5100B LED illuminator to be used for entertainment and theatrical applications, such as star ceilings and fiber optic curtains.
