Hawco Expands the Availability of Food Service LED Lighting

Hawco, an international controls and refrigeration engineering service provider and distributor, has expanded the availability of energyefficient LED lighting products for display applications by offering Nualight’s advanced Vantium© LED Series.

As the new United Kingdom distributor for Nualight, a global specialist in LED technology for food retail displays, Hawco combines the energyefficient Vantium LED Series with superior engineering capabilities and premier customer service to meet customers’ display lighting requirements.

Specifically designed for freezer, chiller and ambient food retail environments, the Vantium LED Series can provides energy-savings of 60% in food illumination applications, such as refrigerated glass door displays, versus traditional fluorescent lighting. The Vantium LED Series also offers decreased maintenance and bulb replacement costs, while providing a bright and consistent light output to enhance displays and ensure uniformity of light throughout the store.

“Nualight is an ideal company to partner with, as it is the only LED assembly manufacturer in the world that focuses exclusively on illuminating refrigerated displays in food retail applications,” said Gary Bennett, Hawco managing director. “In addition, the Vantium LED Series offers our customers an economical alternative to incandescent and florescent lighting due to its long operating life, maintenance-free operation and lowpower consumption.”

Providing consistent colour and brightness levels, the Vantium LED Series features creative and controllable photometrics, as well as adjustable mounting options to maximize merchandising effectiveness. The Vantium LED Series is available in a standard-brightness or a high-brightness version and in several lengths, ranging from 712mm to 1800mm. The Vantium LED Series has an operating voltage of 24V and a LED efficiency of >70 Im watt at 5250K with a light output of up to 1300lx.

“This agreement enables Nualight to expand its geographic footprint and expand into new market sectors such as food service where the customer requirements are similar to food retail. LED is a modern technology that forward looking retailers should look to introduce into their stores in 2009; we believe the days of fluorescents in a food retail environment are over and the adoption of LED fixtures will only be accelerated in the current economic environment,” said Dr Liam Kelly, CEO of Nualight. “The intense global competition in the retail and leisure industries and the pressure to sell more means that businesses need to present their products in the best possible way, while keeping costs down. Added to this consumers are looking for firms to show environmental awareness and have green solutions in place. This is why we have developed our Vantium product series to deliver greener, brighter and more cost-effective solutions demanded by retail and leisure industries. Even in today’s difficult economic climate it is imperative for forward-thinking businesses to have green solutions on their strategic agenda.”
