RAB Lighting Introduces Affordable New 18 Watt LED Floodlight with Innovative Heatsink Design

RAB Lighting, the leading manufacturer of affordable LED lighting, has expanded its family of LED flood lights with the addition of a new 18 Watt “LFLOOD.” The LFLOOD18 produces an astonishing 73 lumens per watt and is designed to replace the 70 Watt metal halide floods found on many commercial building exteriors. RAB’s new LFLOOD18 uses nearly 75% less energy than its 70 Watt metal halide counterpart while delivering an unprecedented combination of light quality, long life, and affordability to a broad range of outdoor commercial LED lighting applications.

Ideal for building façade lighting as well as signage, landscaping, and other outdoor commercial applications, RAB designed the LFLOOD18 reflector system to replicate the rectangular light distribution found in traditional sources.  The system significantly exceeds Energy Star and Design Light Consortium requirements for minimum efficiency performance.

The LFLOOD18 also incorporates RAB’s breakthrough, patent-pending heatsinking technology, which uses thermodynamic convection to drive air through the center of the fixture.  This unique and novel solution allows for dramatically smaller heatsinks, reducing material usage while driving long LED lifespans and achieving attractively short payback periods.

“RAB is committed to driving innovation in the LED arena and to introducing a continuous stream of exciting and affordable LED products which allow commercial, industrial, and residential building owners to significantly reduce their energy consumption and operating costs,” said RAB Lighting CEO Ross Barna.  “Joining the existing 10 and 13 Watt models in our LFLOOD family, our new 18 Watt LED Flood Light offers yet another opportunity for building owners to save money on energy costs and invest in a technology that offers a proven and rapid payback.”

Available in either a bronze or white-finish die-cast aluminum housing, the LFLOOD18 is UL-listed for wet locations and has a minimum starting temperature of -40°C to ensure reliable operation in colder climates or inclement weather situations.  All RAB LED products are tested to IESNA LM-79 and LM-80 standards by third party provider NVLAP Accredited Labs.

The LFLOOD18 is offered with RAB’s comprehensive, whole-system 5-year warranty and represents a high-quality, superior-efficiency solution for the market’s broad range of commercial outdoor floodlighting applications.
