Blueglass Now Has Patents Granted in Key Semiconductor Markets

BluGlass Limited, an Australian clean tech company (ASX : BLG), commercialising exciting semiconductor equipment forthe light emitting diode (LED) and solar industries today announced that twelve (12) of its key Remote Plasma Chemical Vapour Deposition (RPCVD) technology patent applications have been granted or accepted in various countries.

These include patents granted in key semiconductor markets such as Japan, China and the United States of America and underpin the commercial opportunities of using RPCVD as a low cost manufacturing alternative in the production of high efficiency semiconductor devices such as LEDs and solar cells. BluGlass' Remote Plasma Chemical Vapour Deposition technology has many potential advantages to manufacturers with its lower temperature, cleanerand lower cost process.

Building upon and continuing to expand a broad based international patent portfolio is fundamental to the commercialisation of the BluGlass technology. In the last 12 months BluGlass has been successful in increasing it's IP portfolio with the granting or acceptance of 11 patent applications bringing the total portfolio up to 12. This advancement will help BluGlass consolidate strategic partners in these markets.

BluGlass expects that a number of further patent acceptances and grantings in its portfolio will occur in the coming months.

About BluGlass:
BluGlass Limited is an Australian green technology company developed to commercialise a breakthrough in the Semiconductor Industry. BluGlass has invented a new process using Remote Plasma Chemical Vapour Deposition (RPCVD) to grow semiconductor materials such as gallium nitride (GaN) and indium gallium nitride (InGaN), crucial to the production of high efficiency devices such as next generation lighting technology Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) with significant low cost potential. BluGlass, through its subsidiary, BluSolar is now exploring the process' viability in photovoltaic (solar) applications. The BluGlass process is a low temperature and low cost technology with the potential for inherent scalability. Contact: Stefanie Winwood 02 9334 2302, 0433 307 853 swinwood@bluglass.com.au
