Everlight Signs Settlement and License Agreement with Professor Gertrude Neumark Rothschild

Professor Emerita Gertrude Neumark Rothchild (“Prof. Neumark”), of Columbia University, filed a complaint in the United States International Trade Commission against 34 companies on February 19, 2008. Everlight signed a settlement and non-exclusive license agreement with Prof. Neumark on April 11, 2008.

Prof. Neumark granted Everlight an irrevocable, non-exclusive license under the ‘618 and ‘499 Patents (“Patents”) to make, to have made, use, import, export, sell, offer to sell, market or otherwise distribute products embodying any and all parts of the inventions claimed in the Patents. Customers that use any LED products made or sold by Everlight will not be subject to any claims of infringement of the Patents by Prof. Neumark based on or in relation to products that use such LED products.

Everlight has continued to invest in research and developments to strengthen our patent portfolio for the past 25 years, and currently, Everlight possesses many LED-related patents worldwide. In addition, Everlight has signed numerous license agreements and strategic partnership with universities, laboratories and companies in the LED industry.
