Nexxus Lighting Got Granted a Utility Patent on Selective Heat Sink™ Technology

Nexxus Lighting Inc. today announced that it has been awarded a U.S. utility patent (U.S. Patent Number 7,911,797) - "APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR THERMAL MANAGEMENT OF ELECTRICAL DEVICES", patenting the use of thermal pins (Selective Heat Sinks™ ) to dissipate heat away from components mounted on printed circuit boards (PCBs).

Selective Heat Sink™ (SHS) is the primary technology that differentiates the Array brand of LED replacement lamps from all other LED light bulbs on the market, and is one of the core intellectual properties enabling Array lamps to achieve exceptional performance. Less power consumption and higher efficacy levels as well as long life reliability in a light weight plastic housing are the hallmarks of the Array design. SHS is the technology foundation that allows Array lamps to outperform conventional heat sinking methods used in other LED lamps.
