QD Vision chief technologist Seth Coe-Sullivan named top innovator by Tech Review Magazine: MIT journal honors 35 top scientific and technology innovators under the age of 35

WATERTOWN, MA, SQD Vision, Inc. announced that Cofounder and Chief Technologist Seth Coe-Sullivan has been recognized by Technology Review as one of the world’s Top Science and Technology Innovators under the age of 35 for his breakthrough work in quantum dot LED performance and manufacturing process technology.

Coe-Sullivan will receive his award at the upcoming 2006 Emerging Technologies Conference at MIT.

As a founder and CTO of QD Vision, Seth Coe-Sullivan is the company’s technology visionary. Seth received his Electrical Engineering Ph.D. from the MIT in May 2005 where his research focused on incorporating quantum dots into hybrid organic/inorganic LEDs. This work led to new fabrication techniques and the design of a completely integrated thin film deposition system that will enable the next generation of displays.

Seth has over 10 papers and patents pending in the fields of organic light emitting devices, quantum dot LEDs and nanotechnology fabrication. “Seth’s work at QD Vision has driven several technological firsts including the manufacture of the first quantum dot display, significant advances to the contact printing process he invented at MIT, and achieving the highest reported performance from a quantum dot LED,” said Mark Comerford, CEO of QD Vision. “To have our Chief Technologist honored in this manner validates Coe-Sullivan’s leading-edge research and QD Vision’s future business prospects.”

According the Jason Pontin, Editor-in-Chief of Technology Review: “The technology achievements of the TR35 winners are pushing the known limits of science and technology today. It’s very exciting to think about how this new technology will shape their fields and our future in the days and years to come.” The honorees are selected by the editors of the magazine in collaboration with a prestigious panel of judges from major institutions and corporations such as Boston University, Hewlett-Packard Labs, the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, Caltech, and Applied Materials.
