Zhaga Announces Several Updates and Reports About Activities in their Latest June Newsletter

June has been a very busy month for Zhaga, with the consortium’s first meeting in China combined with an open session for government officials and representatives from China’s lighting industry. Meanwhile, the first products have now been certified for Zhaga interface specification Books 4, 7 and 8, while Zhaga has signed a liaison with the Global Lighting Association.

SPECIFICATION UPDATE
Zhaga starts certification for Books 4, 7 and 8
Zhaga has started certification for products designed according to several more of the Zhaga Interface Specifications, which are known as Books. Certification is now available for Book 4, Book 7 and Book 8. Each Book covers a different type of LED light engine. The full specifications for Books 4, 7 and 8 will be published soon on the Zhaga website.

First products certified according to Books 4, 7 and 8
Zhaga has certified the first products for three different LED light engine specifications. LED modules and LED holders have been certified according to Zhaga Interface Specification Book 4, Book 7 and Book 8. Certification allows products to carry the Zhaga logo, and ensures that all the requirements of the particular Zhaga interface specification have been met.

Zhaga releases Edition 1.4 of Book 1 interface specification
Zhaga has released the latest version (Edition 1.4) of the Zhaga Interface Specification Book 1. This provides general information and terminology that applies to all the other Zhaga Books.

LIAISONS
Zhaga Consortium signs liaison agreement with Global Lighting Association
The Zhaga Consortium has signed a liaison agreement with the Global Lighting Association (GLA), a grouping of national and regional lighting associations that together represent over 5,000 lighting manufacturers and USD50 billion in annual sales.

ZHAGA VIDEO
Zhaga unveils video demonstrating interchangeability
The Zhaga Consortium has posted a video on its YouTube channel to explain the principles of interchangeable LED light sources. The video demonstrates interchangeability using examples from different Zhaga interface specifications - Book 2, Book 3 and Book 7.

Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition
In June, the Zhaga Consortium presented a one-hour seminar during the LEDth Summit, part of the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition.

Zhaga members took part in a full-day workshop as part of an LED event organized by VDE and ZVEI in Germany.

LED Professional Symposium
