Lumileds and BluGlass Cooperate for Developing Certain RPCVD Enhanced LEDs

Australian technology innovator BluGlass Limited has today announced that it has entered into an exclusive collaboration agreement with Lumileds. Lumileds develops, manufactures and distributes LEDs and automotive lighting products. The two companies will work together to explore potential use of low temperature RPCVD for specific LED applications defined by the agreement. This agreement follows on from the initial collaboration of BluGlass and Lumileds.

BluGlass is commercialising a breakthrough semiconductor technology called Remote Plasma Chemical Vapour Deposition (RPCVD) in the global multi-billion dollar LED and power electronics industries. BluGlass has developed patented hardware and processes targeting the production of more efficient semiconductor devices at lower cost.

The initial terms of the collaboration are envisioned to continue for approximately six to twelve months. *BluGlass will provide exclusivity of the RPCVD technology, for the specific field of use as stipulated in the agreement, to Lumileds for the period of the collaboration.

The envisioned collaboration will not prevent BluGlass from entering into any other agreements pertaining to the RPCVD equipment development, manufacturing or sale and will not restrict the use of RPCVD outside of the specific field of use in LEDs. BluGlass is continuing its industry evaluation agreements in other fields of use including green LEDs, power electronics and RPCVD equipment development.
