Molex Showcases innovative LED Array Holders and Flexi-Mate Connector System at Light + Building 2012

Molex Incorporated will demonstrate and showcase innovative LED Array Holders for both Citizen and Sharp energy-efficient LED Arrays and its Flexi-Mate™ Connector System for office luminaires at this year’s Light + Building – Europe’s largest trade fair for lighting and intelligent buildings.

Molex’s LED Array Holders, which are ideal for OEM light-fixture manufacturers, simplify the LED installation process for energy-efficient LED Arrays from Citizen and Sharp. Using unmatched interconnect technology developed by Molex, installation time can be reduced significantly with compression contacts that eliminate hand soldering, allowing customers to install LED arrays quickly into fixtures, enable field replacements and facilitate upgrades to current applications.

Designed to address the lighting needs of luminaire manufacturers, particularly luminaires intended for the office environment, the Molex Flexi-Mate Connector System is an industry first solution that provides a full range of both board-to-board and wire-to-board connectivity. Currently available in a standard two-circuit design, the Flexi-Mate Connector System’s key features include a dual-contact terminal design for secure electrical contact and robust, space-saving positive side locks for wire-to-board connectors.  A mating guide on PCB versions facilitates smooth mating and protects terminals during mating and unmating. The Flexi-Mate System is available in low halogen and non-low-halogen material to meet various environmental and market requirements.

Molex can solve difficult LED design, assembly and manufacturing issues for luminaire manufacturers and has a proven record of exceeding customer expectations for electrical, mechanical and thermal requirements. With over 20 years experience in the specialised design and manufacture of complex LED and printed circuit assemblies, Molex offers luminaire manufacturers and their suppliers a wide range of innovative products and extensive research and development capabilities, including rapid prototyping and high volume production support.

Throughout the exhibition, experts from Molex will be on hand to provide visitors to the stand (Hall 4.0, Stand F41) with advice and guidance on selecting interconnect solutions for their own specific applications.
