Traxon supported PLDA's International Lighting Event - Lighting Alingsås, 2009 in Sweden

Traxon’s cutting-edge, Red Dot Award winning Mesh RGB was successfully used to demonstrate the lighting design concept “fun landscape” at this year’s international Lighting event.

Traxon Technologies has once again supported one of the biggest PLDA lighting event – Lighting Alingsås in Sweden. This year’s topic was “Inspiration in Alingsås – celebrating ten years”. The event attracted more than 75.000 visitors from all round the world, including thousands of lighting designers and architects. Nobody wanted to miss this event – Architects and lighting designers consider it being a great meeting place to exchange architectural lighting design concepts and innovations. The event offers lighting design students the opportunity to create six unique lighting themes together with six internationally renowned PLDA lighting designers.

Traxon was chosen to collaborate with lighting designer - Giovanni Traverso (Professor and Master on Lighting Design at IUAV, Venice) for the lighting project – “the Skate Park”, presenting the lighting design concept “fun landscape”. A total of 16 Mesh RGB panels were installed beside the skate park. In order to match the design concept, a set of natural landscape animation shows were programmed by Rogier Hengeveld (European Project Manager of Traxon) to be shown continuously on the Mesh. At the same time, the whole "Skate park" light show (duration: 8 minutes) was controlled by e:cue. The light show started while skaters were on the rink. The "Skate Park" was a dazzling, eye catching landscape during the event fascinating many visitors walking through the space.
  
Traxon’s Mesh RGB with 67,5mm pitch is a highly versatile flexible modular and semitransparent LED media facade with a low profile and an easy mounting system. Each Mesh unit comprises eight grid-elements, connected by flexible joints and five Strings each with 32 pixels resulting in 160 individually controllable pixels per Mesh unit. It’s IP67-rated and UV resistant material make the Mesh RGB suitable for a variety of outdoor applications. Furthermore the Mesh RGB can serve as a room divider by combining two units back to back with its refined and simple clipping system.
