The Advent of the World's Thinnest LED Fixture

Guangdong Cnlight Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. (Cnlight) announced its new planar illumination products during 2011 Hong Kong International Lighting Fair. The Cnlight high-end ultra-slim LED table lamp features a 3.73mm ultra-slim illuminator and high performance, excellent uniformity and good quality of light. The new LED lighting design is enabled by Oree’s LightCellTM technology. Oree is an Israel-based company that is the pioneer of LED planar light sources. Cnlight’s collaboration with Oree’s innovative technology opens the door to a completely new category for LED illumination: “Planar LED Lighting.”

The Cnlight new LED fixtures contain a light source that combines optical and semiconductor technology in a high-tech planar lighting design. The fixture body is made with an aluminum-based alloy, with a flexible arm that is able to move to the appropriate positions smoothly. The central axis is able to rotate the fixture easily to light around the room. The fixture is designed with simplicity and elegance in mind. The LightCell is a new planar LED light source technology developed by Oree, which is backed by over 30 plus patents in advanced optics, semiconductors and lighting technologies. The LightCell is an ultra-thin system-ready package that enables completely different designs than other well-known conventional LED light sources. It emits uniform color and brightness from its lighting surface and combines the light from individual LED dies, redirecting their radiation through a flat light guide for an efficient and uniform planar emitting pattern. The White LightCellTM efficacy today achieves 80lm/W while providing a high color-rendering index (CRI) 90 -95 for true color reproduction.
