Edison Opto Introduces New Components for Street Lights and Residential Lighting The internationally renowned LED packaging manufacturer, Edison Opto, introduces the new high voltage SMD LEDs which include 3030 HV (1.5 W 45 V) and 5050 HV (12 V / 60 V / 65 V). Edison HV series features high lm/$ and high luminous efficiency, for example, 3030 series can achieve 190 lm under 1.5 W 33 mA (equivalent to 130 lm/W). Osram Opto Introduces Synios P 2720 - Optimized for Injecting Light into Light Guides The efficient LED light sources of the Synios P 2720 family from Osram Opto Semiconductors are based on compact dimensions and a scalable package concept, opening up new design options, particularly for car headlights. They have been optimized for injecting light into light guides, and can be used as daytime running lights, position lights, and in tail light clusters. From the outside, the 15 LED versions can hardly be distinguished from each other, with all of them having the same solder pad design and package dimensions. On the inside, however, various chip sizes with an edge length between 500 μm and 1 mm, different levels of brightness, and a broad range of colors make the LEDs extremely variable. Read more »

Osram Develops High-Power Duris S 10 LED as an Alternative to Low-Lumen COBs Duris S 10 is the latest addition to the Chip Array SMD family (CAS) from Osram Opto Semiconductors. This new LED is characterized by high efficiency, high light output and uniform color appearance. Efficient SMD technology (surface mounted device) makes assembly simple. These properties lead to significant cost savings in system and optic design, which may be as high as 30 percent depending on the particular customer application. The new Duris has a compact footprint and is available in two output classes with up to 1400 lumen.
