Samsung’s High-Performance Linear Modules for Indoor Lighting Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a world leader in advanced component solutions, today announced “H-series Gen 3,” a new line-up of LED linear modules that features high efficacy and enables easy replacement of fluorescent lights with LED lamps. Samsung’s H-series Gen 3 provides light efficacy reaching up to 187 lumen per watt (lm/W) at 4000 K, which allows LED luminaires using the modules to achieve light efficacy above 140 lm/W, delivering an optic efficiency level of about 86 percent and LED driver efficiency of approximately 88 percent. Stray Light Correction Improves UV-LED Characterization Instrument Systems is the first industrial supplier for stray light corrected calibrations of array spectrometers to serve the broad market. By including a stray light correction matrix in the calibration process, it is possible to suppress the stray light during the measurement by an order of magnitude down to 10 E-5. A 10% higher sensitivity in the UV range after stray light corrected calibration leads to about 3-4% higher accuracy in the radiometric measurement. The more accurate determination of the radiometric values of UV LEDs facilitates their characterization and development, and supports the various applications of these radiation sources, for example, in the field of coating, curing, disinfection or biomedicine. Instrument Systems LGS 350: Fast Energy Efficiency Tests With a view to future energy-efficient lighting solutions in buildings, Instrument Systems has optimized its LGS 350 goniophotometer system for highly accurate and fast testing of medium-sized LED modules according to the EU Eco-Design Directive. The LGS 350 system features an 85 % increased travel speed of the γ-axis to 34 °/s. The permissible top speed of 0.25 m/s pursuant to CIE S 025 is thus possible for a large number of LED sample sizes. Compared to present measurement solutions, for the user this means greatly increased throughput while maintaining a high standard of measurement precision.
