eLumigen Launches LED Vapor Tight Linear Lowbay Fixtures
Today, eLumigen launched their new 4' LED Vapor Tight Linear Lowbay fixtures. The company specializes in LED lighting for harsh commercial and industrial environments. The new LED Vapor Tight Linear Lowbay fixtures come with an extremely durable housing, including an IK10 protection rating to withstand up to 11lbs of impact. The fixtures have an IP66 rating for dust & water ingress protection for both indoor and outdoor applications. A flip-down cover at each end creates easy access for through-wiring and daisy-chaining multiple fixtures together.

Lumileds, a global leader in innovative lighting solutions, today introduced the Luxeon MultiColor Module 2.5 W, a compact RGBW module that produces leading flux and achieves exact color points in architectural and general outdoor lighting applications. The 4-in-1 module simplifies system design by combining red, green, blue and white emitters in a compact 5050 footprint, PLCC package. "We designed a barrier between the color and white emitter to eliminate the problem of crosstalk, allowing designers to consistently achieve the exact color point they are targeting," said Jennifer Holland, Product Line Director at Lumileds. Crosstalk can occur when a direct LED excites the phosphor in a neighboring white LED, altering the emitted color.

The house sparrow is one of the most common carriers of WNV in urban areas. Mosquitos feed off the infected birds and spread the virus to humans. New research finds house sparrows exposed to artificial light at night, such as what's used in parking lots, maintain higher burdens of WNV for longer than those who spend their nights in the dark.
